Plight of our Ocean was created as a way of reflecting the state of the waters with all the rubbish discarded in them. I chose Orca whales as I love these creatures and like the contrast the black & white givea to the rest of the colourful fish. I painted each orca with scars and trapped in rope or rubbish to show the trauma they have living in our oceans. The sea bed has a subtle display of discarded tyres off into the distance. This was in reference to photos I had seen of actual ocean beds covered in tyre after tyre. There are 59 tropical fish, each one painted with different markings or colours. No two fish are the same. 2 Jelly fish & 6 orcas. Painted in acrylic.
